Structured products are products which use additional features and mechanisms to increase the yield for investors.
As a consequence, their setup is more sophisticated and their risk profile more specific.
Structured products exist in many formats, such as debt securities (e.g. structured bonds and certificates), structured deposits, investment funds or finance solutions embedded in an insurance contract.
Investments in structured products are done by retail and institutional investors.
Structured products are issued and traded both on stock exchanges and on an individual basis (called OTC, over-the-counter).
